About

In March 2023, I completed the two-year Institute for Spiritual Direction, held at Cedarbrake Catholic Retreat Center in Temple, Texas. This training focused not only on the necessary skills for spiritual direction, but also on various spiritual practices and disciplines, as well as on different threads of Christian spirituality (such as Benedictine, Ignatian, and Carmelite, to name a few).

Over the course of my Christian walk, I have been a member of the Roman Catholic Church, the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, the United Methodist Church, the Evangelical Covenant Church, the Christian & Missionary Alliance, and Vista Community Church. Currently I am a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Belton, Texas. These varied streams of Christian thought and theology have prepared me to minister to a broad section of the Christian community.

In my time at different churches, I have led many small groups and Bible studies. I have also served in music ministry, men’s ministry, and even as a church elder. While I have enjoyed those ministry opportunities, serving as a spiritual director, presenter, and retreat leader is where I believe all of my gifts come together.

On a more personal note, I have been married for twenty years, and my wife and I have two children. In my free time I enjoy reading, playing piano, writing, running, and playing board games. Some of my favorite writers of faith are C.S. Lewis, Meister Eckhart, Blaise Pascal, St. Augustine, John of the Cross, Fyodor Dostoevsky, and Madeline L’Engle.
